Blog Posting #2

I think in many different ways that social media has decreased the quality of news and information. Social  media such as twitter, facebook, gossip tabloids often report wrong information to the public. An example is there are many false death reports that people make up on twitter. but For instance a couple weeks ago people said that George Lopez died along with 20 other people in a car crash this was a false report that alot of people believed. On the flip side the quality of social media is good in that you can get breaking news instanley through facebook and twitter. For example when Whitney Huston died people found out instanley through Facebook and Twitter and the world found out in a matter of minutes. I also think that with all the wrong news and information coming out of twitter and facebook that most people don't believe it but people tend to believe the quality is better and more accurate

  1. I like how you write about both sides of the issue. It is a good and bad thing. News gets around faster than traditional media, but also a lot of false information out there. It is hard to tell if the information that you read if falsified or true without having to do a little research on it yourself.
